Co-founder of the Common Ground Collaborative (CGC) school network and a dear friend of Avenor College, Kevin Bartlett visited us recently and had a chance to catch up with our school’s development. In the videos below, Kevin talks about how the CGC is helping all the member schools to get learning organised, how Avenor is growing and changing and how parents can contribute to the learning process.

Based on decades of experience in school leadership, the founders of the CGC created a global network of great schools starting from an apparently simple question: How do we bring simplicity to the learning business?

We asked Kevin to share with us his view on our school’s development progress since his last visit in the summer of 2016 for a workshop. He also talks about the changes in the school’s schedule – 100 minutes modules and project-based learning – and how they add flexibility to learning and „generate time”.

Talking about the ways that parents can contribute to their children’s learning, Kevin uses simple but powerful words: encourage, discuss, enjoy, love.
