Avenor scholarships

The Avenor College scholarship programme – May 2019 session

Avenor College is offering two new scholarships for high school students (Grades 9 and 11) joining our community at the beginning of their IGCSE and/or A Level programmes. These scholarships are offered to students enrolled in other educational institutions.

The Avenor College scholarship programme calendar for May 2019 session:

April 17th – May 17th: Individual scholarship application will be made based on the online submission of the Application and the submission of the complete scholarship file at Avenor College headquarters -  contact person Luminița Susanu (phone:0724 010 615, e-mail: burse@avenor.ro). The scholarship file will include a copy of the report card, a copy of the English Language Certificate, letters of recommendation, copies of the diplomas/certificates/ awards which can prove the fulfilment of awarding criteria.   

May-June 2019

  • The Scholarship Committee evaluates the files and decides upon the finalists. The members of the Scholarships Committee are Diana Segarceanu (Executive Director), Dana Papadima (Educational Director), Georgiana Socoliu (Middle School Coordinator), Andrew Sutton (High School Coordinator) and Darren Hugill (Director of Learning). 
  • Students are invited, together with their parents, for an interview with the Admissions Manager, Raluca Tarcea, and will be tested in Maths and English. These tests are mandatory for students coming from another school. 
  • Parents of the finalists receive a confirmation message which includes details about the possible value of the grant offered. They are also notified about the topic for the presentation of the applicant. 
  • Pupils prepare their presentations and speeches.
  • Pupils deliver a speech in front of Scholarships Commission and students from Avenor.
  • After the presentation, parents receive the Scholarship Contract. If the offer is accepted, the contract will be signed. 

The Avenor College scholarship programme – February 2019 session

Avenor College offered four new scholarships dedicated to middle school and high school students (Grades 7, 8, 9, 11). These scholarships are offered to students enrolled at Avenor College or other educational institutions.

About the Avenor College scholarship programme

The Avenor College scholarship programme offers every year new scholarships for middle school and high school covering between 25% and 100% of the tuition fee.

Each of the current Avenor scholars has the opportunity to maintain their scholarship also in the future school year if they meet the objectives of the individual scholarship contracts. The scholarships will be awarded for one school year, with the possibility of a conditioned annual renewal (according to the terms mentioned in the Scholarship Contract).

Scholarship beneficiary

The Avenor scholarship beneficiary has proven excellent results both in the academic field and in the extra-curricular activities, is a model of conduct for others, shows a proactive attitude towards learning, is actively engaged in all the school events, is a good fellow student and friend.

The future scholarship beneficiary will apply for a scholarship following the steps in the Scholarship Programme published every year. The scholarship programme refers to the number of scholarships offered, their financial value as well as to the terms and conditions for obtaining such a scholarship. 

History

The Avenor Foundation has been offering scholarships to its students since 2010. The quantum of these scholarships, until now (2019), has risen up to almost 361.925 euros. Until the present moment, 59 students have benefited from these programmes.

For the 2018-2019 academic year, a number of 11 students were awarded scholarships. The total amount of these scholarships is of 58.775 euros. 

Avenor scholarship programme

The Avenor scholarship programme for the 2019-2020 school year offers 4 new scholarships for Middle School and High School students, covering between 25% and 100% of the tuition fee. These 4 new scholarships complement the existing scholarship programme. All current Avenor scholars have the opportunity to maintain their scholarship also in the next school year if they meet the objectives of the individual scholarship contracts. The scholarships will be awarded for one academical year, with the possibility of a conditioned annual renewal (according to the terms mentioned in the Scholarship Contract).
