Year 1 Blue Teacher
“Nothing is impossible; the word itself says I’m possible!” (Audrey Hepburn)
My name is Oana Petre and this is my fourth year here at Avenor Nursery.
I graduated from Pedagogical High School in 2009 and since 2012 I have been working as a kindergarten teacher. But working might not be a really good description of what I do, because I consider that you cannot “work” with a child. I probably should say that I discover each and every child I interact with, and after that I guide and help them to follow their own dreams, as unique individuals.
My journey as a teacher began six years ago and since then I have been working with children from 3 to 6 years old. When you work with children you are constantly adapting, you try to improve your skills so that they learn something new, something that they can really use in life. Therefore, as a teacher, I like to develop a close connection with the children so that they can trust and enjoy everything they learn at kindergarten. I like to motivate children and I encourage them to be expressive in their own way.
The relationships you develop as a teacher are absolutely amazing. You see your students every day, or every other day, and you get to know their minds, and their hearts. It is such a great privilege to have the ability to help children achieve their best, inspiring them not only academically but personally, getting up on stage and performing with and for them. These are just a few wonderful things about being a teacher.
My passion for arts & crafts, reading and music, is a never ending source of inspiration, and this reflects in them. I can say that this is my dream job and as long as there are children in the world, I will do my best to find as many ways to make them as happy as I can.
I am looking forward to having a superb year ahead with great colleagues, amazing parents and wonderful children.
