Laura Băjenaru
Science Teacher

I graduated from the Applied Chemistry and Material Science Faculty, University Politehnica of Bucharest and I have a Master’s degree in Biophysics and Cellular Biotechnology from “Carol Davila” Medical and Pharmaceutical University. I completed my PhD studies at University Politehnica of Bucharest in the Chemical Engineering field in 2015. My scientific work was published in well-known international publications with a high impact factor in the field.
As a researcher, I believe that the scientific community has the duty to share our knowledge and passion for science. Therefore in 2012, I accepted the most beautiful challenge: to teach Chemistry A-level and IGCSE, and also Science for KS3.
There are several goals that I hope to achieve as a teacher, and the most important is to inspire and to make students aware of the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and ethics in Science. It is also important for a student to achieve performance through resilience and hard work, being ready to embrace the scientific challenges. I believe Science lesson must be taught in a growth mindset approach and adapted to the actual technology era by engaging young people to find solution to the real-life challenges.
