The recipe back then was rather literal and not at all how we&#8217;d think of Lemon Curd these days. Then there was \u2018Lemon Cheese\u2019 which was used to make lemon tarts. Original recipes advise to &#8216;rasp hard pieces of sugar&#8217;, as it didn&#8217;t come in grain form then, against the lemon\u2019s skin in order to remove the zest to extract essence and color.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nowadays, although the recipe has been refined for extra finesse and flavor, it remains one of the simplest recipes for a dessert that can be served in various forms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients for Lemon Curd: <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-30412 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14-1030x1030.png 1030w, https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14-80x80.png 80w, https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/www.avenor.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Alumni_newsletter-14.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6 egg yolks<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">180 gr. of sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">zest of two lemons<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">80 ml. lemon juice<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">110 gr. of butter<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, whisk the sugar, eggs, and lemon zest together in a stainless steel saucepan. Next, add the fresh lemon juice and whisk the ingredients together until they are well combined.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After that, add the unsalted butter and whisk the mixture constantly over medium heat until it thickens. This took about six minutes. Continue whisking the mixture for several more minutes until it starts to bubble before removing the pan from the heat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To obtain a smooth cream, strain the resulting mixture through a wire strainer. Then put it in the refrigerator to cool completely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With just four ingredients, English Lemon Curd is a smooth dessert with a lemon flavor that overwhelms the senses.
