My journey in education began with my passion for the media and film industry, which I studied at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT). My background as a producer, cinematographer, and art director has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the industry\u2019s expectations and dynamics, which I now bring into the classroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

After gaining substantial experience in the media industry, I felt a strong urge to broaden my knowledge further. This drive led me to pursue additional studies in business management, and eventually, education. My time volunteering at a school in the Netherlands was a pivotal experience that influenced my decision to transition into teaching. It was there that I realized the importance of offering students alternative educational options beyond traditional subjects, igniting my passion for teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am deeply passionate about fostering critical thinking and creativity in my students. My time as a media teacher has given me the opportunity to witness young minds analyze media, apply theoretical knowledge practically, and express their creativity, which is immensely rewarding. I believe in providing a space where students can explore their creativity without limitations, which is crucial for their development and self-expression.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At Avenor College, my goal is to inspire students to discover and nurture their creativity. I aim to help them identify their true goals and develop a positive outlook on their abilities and future. I am committed to nurturing each student to be their best self, and I am enthusiastic about contributing to the vibrant Avenor community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside the classroom, I have various passions and interests. I enjoy coaching swimming and other sport forms, volunteering and believe in giving back to the community. These experiences have enriched my perspective and informed my teaching philosophy. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to making a meaningful impact at Avenor College.<\/span><\/p>\n

I look forward to the upcoming school year and the chance to engage with the students and staff at Avenor College.
