I am a passionate and dedicated educator committed to creating inclusive, engaging, and results-driven learning environments that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Over the past 13 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students in different countries, experiences that have broadened my educational perspective and deepened my appreciation of the diverse backgrounds, cultures, and strengths that learners bring into the classroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mathematics has always been my greatest passion, and it continues to inspire my work as an educator. I strive to cultivate the same enthusiasm for the subject in my students by making learning meaningful, challenging, and accessible. My teaching is characterised by innovation, high expectations, and a strong commitment to supporting every learner in achieving their full potential. I teach Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Further Mathematics from KS3 through to A Level.<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout my career, I have held a range of leadership positions that have strengthened my ability to build collaborative teams and lead effectively in different educational contexts. My experience as Head of the Mathematics Department, KS5 Coordinator, and BTEC Quality Nominee has equipped me with the skills to lead departments successfully while maintaining a strong focus on both academic excellence and student wellbeing. These roles have enhanced my expertise in curriculum leadership, quality assurance, and pastoral care.<\/span><\/p>\n

Supporting students as they transition from A Level to university is a responsibility I value deeply. I encourage learners to continually ask themselves, <\/span>“What next?”<\/span><\/i> and to approach their futures with purpose and confidence. To strengthen my ability to guide students through this important stage, I completed formal training in College Going Identity and Student Success through the Harvard Graduate School of Education. This training has equipped me with valuable strategies to help students make informed decisions as they navigate the exciting yet challenging transition from secondary education to higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n

My academic qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), a Postgraduate Certificate in International Education (PGCiE), a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, a Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), and a Certificate in Teaching the International Curriculum<\/em>. I am also deeply committed to pastoral care and continuously engage in professional development in safeguarding, child protection, and mental health awareness to ensure I provide holistic support for every learner.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beyond the classroom, I firmly believe that exceptional teachers nurture the whole child. Academic achievement is important, but developing character, resilience, leadership, and social responsibility is equally essential in preparing students for life beyond school.<\/span><\/p>\n

I actively support the values of the Round Square organisation, embracing its IDEALS of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. I am also passionate about public speaking and youth empowerment and am a member of Straight Talk Kenya, where I contribute to helping young people engage openly and responsibly with sensitive issues that affect their lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside my professional responsibilities, I enjoy participating in Mathematics Olympiads such as the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) competitions.
