Laura Filip

Nursery Teacher

Hello! My name is Laura Filip, but everyone calls me Lala and honestly, I love that. It captures a bit of who I am: cheerful, a little whimsical, and always ready to bring joy into the classroom.

My journey with education began at the Faculty of Foreign Languages, where I studied English alongside Pedagogy. That’s where I first fell in love with teaching. From nursery schools to tutoring sessions, I found joy in helping young minds grow and I never looked back.

Well… almost never.

In 2013, I joined the Avenor family and spent three amazing years here, filled with fun, laughter, and learning. But in 2016, curiosity knocked, and I decided to answer. I ventured into the world of event planning,  a daring shift that brought its own adventures. I spent five years working in a creative, fast-paced agency environment where I learned a lot about communication, organisation, and how to stay calm when things don’t go as planned (which is great training for life with toddlers, too!).

But even as I planned events and managed logistics, something was always calling me back. My heart was still in teaching.

That’s why in 2021 returning to the classroom felt like coming home.

Beyond teaching, I love all things creative. I’m a proud Lego collector,  from botanical sets to Star Wars and even art-themed builds. I also enjoy do-it-yourself projects, especially making unique flower headbands inspired by Frida Kahlo. These little passions keep me connected to the colourful, imaginative world that children naturally live in.

I see myself as a happy person, full of colour (literally and metaphorically!), and I truly believe that teaching is the most rewarding job out there. There’s nothing quite like seeing the spark in a child’s eyes when they discover something new.

As I begin another chapter here at Avenor as a mother and a teacher, I’m filled with excitement for the year ahead – for the new experiences, the growth, the laughter, and the joy of learning. I feel honoured to play a role in each student’s journey, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll discover together.

Here’s to a vibrant, meaningful, and fun-filled school year!
