Accreditations
Avenor College is a bilingual international school with double accreditation, both in the Romanian system and in the British system. We have been accredited by the Romanian Ministry of Education through ARACIP 12 years ago, and in the 2018-2019 academic year we received the confirmation that we also meet the British School Overseas (BSO) standards, representing the Department of Education (DfE) in the UK.
Following the British School Overseas (BSO) inspection conducted in March 2026, the inspectors’ report confirms that Avenor continues to provide high-quality education aligned with international standards and highlights the school’s continued progress.
Inspectors praised the broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, as well as the quality of teaching, characterised by active student engagement, effective questioning and learning experiences that support each child’s academic and personal development.
The report also highlights the safe and student-centred educational environment built at Avenor, the very positive relationships between students and teachers, and the strong focus placed on students’ wellbeing and personal development.
At the same time, the report confirms that Avenor is a community where students are encouraged to discover their potential, learn with confidence and benefit from a wide range of development opportunities within a modern, international environment that is deeply responsive to their needs.

Avenor College is an Accredited Member of COBIS. The Council of British International Schools (COBIS) is a global membership association for high quality British international Schools. COBIS schools can be found in over 75 countries worldwide and all member schools are committed to quality assurance and the delivery of a British style education.
Following the February 2025 inspection, Avenor College received the Career Mark International Award recognition for the second time, which confirms the quality of the Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance program offered by Avenor to its students.
The quality assessment of the career counselling and guidance program carried out by Career Mark is very complex. We are talking about an evaluation that measures the effectiveness of the system as a whole, from the integration of the program into the curriculum to the assessment of students’ skills and attitudes in relation to the career planning process.

We are an international high school authorized to offer Cambridge IGCSE and A level examinations.
Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Developed over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools worldwide. The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum offers a variety of routes for learners with a wide range of abilities, including those whose first language is not English.
Avenor College prepares and enters candidates for Cambridge English exams, the world’s leading range of qualifications for learners of English.
Avenor College is a Plus member of the British Council Advantage Partnership Programme. Our school annually organises Cambridge English exams in partnership with the British Council.
The Common Ground Collaborative (CGC) is a global network of innovators, educators and partners who share common principles. Avenor College joined GCG in 2016 and is one of the Founding Schools of the network.
The Avenor Nursery, Primary School and Middle School are accredited by the Ministry of Education, through the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Pre-university Education (ARACIP).
