Elena Baciu

Nursery Teacher
EYFS & KS1 Curriculum Monitor

My name is Elena Banciu and I became a teacher in 2012, working alongside professionals, mostly in British nurseries here in Bucharest.

I started teaching because I loved being surrounded by happiness, unconditional love and laughter. Nowadays, my role is focused on what I can give back instead of receiving. I aim to guide each child into becoming an independent thinker, a good person and an involved citizen.

I finished my bachelor’s degree with a diploma in Social work from the University of Bucharest and did a part of my MA in Belgium, studying Social, Pedagogical Art and Creativity Exploration.

While engaged in a work exchange in the United Kingdom, I invested in understanding the role of setting up the indoor/outdoor learning areas in order to benefit the children’s development. Moreover, I I completed an internship at ‘Red Cross Menen’ and participated in courses related to child safety, Early Years Foundation Stage and forest schools.

As an Avenorian, I hope to nurture children’s knowledge and build good relationships within the community as I believe ‘it takes a village to raise a child’.
