Nasreen Hammad

Nursery Teacher

My name is Nasreen Hammad, and I have been part of the Avenor Nursery team since 2022. I am incredibly excited to begin my third inspiring year here, this time with Year One. Originally from Pakistan, I bring with me a diverse and enriching background, having worked in various international schools both in Pakistan and abroad. I have been part of BSO (British Schools Overseas) institutions for over 17 years, gaining valuable experience across Key Stages 1, 2, 3, and 4. However, my journey in education began as a nursery teacher, and returning to work with younger children has been a deeply rewarding experience, like coming home to where my passion was first sparked.

After becoming a mother and completing my degree in Psychology, I developed a deeper understanding of how children grow, learn, and feel safe in the world around them. Motherhood taught me that every child is unique and deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. This personal experience strengthened my belief in the transformative power of teaching and reinforced my commitment to nurturing young minds with love, patience, and purpose.

My passion for education is rooted in the joy of discovery, creativity, and connection. I take great pride in watching children bloom, seeing their confidence grow, their curiosity deepen, and their abilities flourish. I believe a teacher’s role extends far beyond the classroom; we are mentors, cheerleaders, storytellers, and guides. We help shape the foundations of lifelong learning by creating an environment where children feel free to explore, imagine, question, and succeed at their own pace.

At Avenor, I’ve found a space where each child is encouraged to find their own voice and learning style. Whether we’re singing songs during circle time, enjoying the rustle of leaves in the forest, counting ladybugs in spring, or exploring the importance of water during summer play, every moment becomes a meaningful opportunity to teach and learn together. I especially cherish our forest activities, collecting autumn leaves, building shelters, planting seeds, and enjoying the magic of winter snow play, all of which help children connect with nature and themselves.

Looking ahead, my hopes and dreams as a teacher at Avenor are to continue inspiring confidence, independence, and joy in every child I work with. I aim to create a learning space where children feel valued, respected, and motivated to reach their full potential. I am proud to be part of a system where every child is finding their space, growing in their own way, and becoming exactly who they are meant to be.
