Parents

The parent community plays an important role in shaping children – together we can prepare them for the future.

Our school promotes open communication between parents and any member of our team, including teachers, form tutors, leadership team or administrative team.

To facilitate this process, we have created the Avenor Parents Portal, a platform designed to provide parents with a centralized access point for important information. The Portal offers many advantages, so we encourage you to install the app and use it for more effective communication with the school.

Parents’ Portal

The Spirit of the Avenor Community

At Avenor, our parent community is an essential partner in school life. Their continuous involvement, collaborative mindset, and openness help create an environment where children grow in a climate of trust, support, and genuine connection. Together, we build a community where everyone finds their place.

Parents for Teachers

Every spring, parents take on the role of teachers for one hour, offering the Avenor team special moments and thoughtful surprises – a gesture of appreciation for their daily dedication.

Avenor Parents’ Choir

The Avenor Parents’ Choir is a musical project that has become a symbol of our community. With over 30 parents rehearsing weekly at school, the Choir brings joy to every event, both on campus and beyond.

Volunteer Camps

Together with our parent community, we engage in social projects that reflect Avenor’s values. During the camp in Târnăvioara, parents and teachers worked side by side to refurbish community spaces within the “Circular Economy Social Hub in Târnăvioara,” part of the Via Transilvanica route developed by Tășuleasa Social Association.

What do Avenor parents say?

2020 was the year when we were reminded how crucial a strong community is. We needed it for observing the sanitary rules, for lending a hand to the less fortunate or for supporting the local businesses.

Avenor Parents Business Community comes with a dual mission

First, it is a platform for the mutual support of the businesses owned by the Avenor parents, or the companies they work for. Second, it aims to be an educational bridge, focused on the practcal learning, between our children and the world that awaits them beyond school. Any business need you might have, personal or for your company, whether you look for or provide goods or services, we recommend you to look first for the right partner within the Avenor Parents Business Community.

We invite you on this platform, where you can share with other parents information about the business in which you are involved.

Parents' committee

Comitetul de părinți a fost înființat la școală din toamna anului 2011 și este format din reprezentanții părinților fiecărei clase. În anul 2020, am creat un comitet de părinți și la Grădinița Avenor.

The Committee operates based on the provisions of the Statute that regulate the conduct and work of the meetings, duties and responsibilities.

The main role of the Parents’ Committee is to support and promote the common interests of the students and parents of the Avenor College community, in the relations with the teachers and the management of the school, with the educational institutions of the state and the civil society.

The school from home

„The school from home” is a parenting programme organised by our school counselors for the entire parent community.

Among the topics of this programme were the dynamics of the parent-child relationship, the connection between family and school in understanding the phenomenon of bullying, self-knowledge, child protection, setting boundaries, values, giving, expectations of parents and children – a series of workshops given by our school counselors, together with guests specialised in various fields.

Learning from feedback

At Avenor, listening isn’t just a communication skill — it’s part of our culture. We believe that any successful school must begin with understanding its community, and understanding begins with listening.

Our Feedback Forward strategy ensures that students, parents, and staff are not only heard but actively involved in school life. Feedback is collected systematically throughout the year—through surveys, focus groups, parent-teacher meetings, and community events—and translated into concrete actions that support learning, relationships, and well-being.

In 2024, we took this commitment to an even higher level by collaborating with YELLOW CAR to implement the Felt Experience Indicator® (FEI)., a tool that explores not only what people say, but also how they feel. The results were outstanding:

  • 95% of students (grades 5–12), 83% of families, and 93% of employees expressed their opinions.
  • Avenor achieved the highest overall rating of all schools where FEI was implemented.

The study provided us with valuable insight into the community’s perceived experience, showing what elements contribute to increased trust, how we can strengthen relationships, and what we can do better. From transparency of results to communication with parents, this information has helped us refine our practices and make everyday life at school better for all of us.

At Avenor, listening doesn’t stop at surveys. She continues in monthly meetings of the Parents’ Committee, through our open channels of communication and constant dialogue with students and teachers. Every bit of feedback—from a chat with parents at the end of the school day to a formal report—is taken in, thought about, and used to guide the next step.Because at Avenor, we don’t just collect feedback. We listen, understand, and take action.
