Cristina Iamandei
Nursery Teacher
My passion for education began during my years at the Pedagogical High School, where I had the privilege of learning from dedicated teachers who inspired me not only through their knowledge, but also through their commitment to this meaningful profession. They laid the pedagogical foundations and helped me develop the confidence needed to become caring educators, encouraging me to see education as a meaningful responsibility. These values have stayed with me throughout my journey. Graduating from the Pedagogical High School in 2013 as a qualified Preschool and Primary Teacher confirmed my desire to work with children and laid the foundation for my future career.
My curiosity and love for the English language inspired me to continue my studies at Transilvania University of Brașov, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Studies from the Faculty of Letters. Alongside my studies, I gained valuable practical experience by working as a nursery teacher for one year, starting in 2013. In 2014, I had the opportunity to explore something equally rewarding: theatre for children. I enjoyed the activities at Teatrul Albinuțele, which centred around storytelling, creativity and learning through play, so much that I spent several years working as a performer at the theatre. This experience strengthened my belief that children learn best when they are engaged, encouraged to explore and given the confidence to express themselves freely.
My professional journey later took me into international aviation, where I spent eight years as cabin crew with Qatar Airways (2018–2022) and Emirates (2022–2026). Working in the dynamic and multicultural environment of aviation helped me develop strong communication skills, attention to detail, punctuality, cultural sensitivity and a strong work ethic.
Although aviation provided extraordinary opportunities for personal and professional growth, my passion for working with children never changed. It inspired me to continue expanding my understanding of child development, and I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I believe that combining educational practice with psychological knowledge allows me to better understand each child’s unique needs and to support their emotional, social and cognitive development.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy travelling, reading, staying active through sports and spending time in nature.
Joining Avenor is both an exciting professional opportunity and a meaningful step in my journey as an educator. I look forward to becoming part of a community that values curiosity, kindness and lifelong learning. My hope is to create a classroom where every child feels safe, respected and encouraged to build meaningful connections within their community.
I am excited to continue learning alongside my students and to contribute with enthusiasm, warmth and dedication to the Avenor community.
