Dharmesh Chohan

Teacher of Science

After completing a Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Bristol, I created and ran my own business. This fruitful adventure allowed me to travel extensively and take time out of formal education and work.

In 2007, I decided to embark on a more personally and emotionally fulfilling career. I attained Qualified Teacher Status from Loughborough University and have been guiding young people ever since.

My early teaching career exposed me to a wide range of UK schools. Here, I was often teaching classes with children of up to 15 different nationalities. It was this exposure to the international community that fed my desire to seek work abroad.

After receiving many great opportunities from around the globe, I decided to accept an offer to help stabilize a Science department at a thriving international school in the lowlands of Bolivia. My role also allowed me to work alongside the British Consulate, aiding British nationals. After four successful years in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, I took the decision to return to the UK. Here, I continued to serve the community where I was born and raised. Alongside work, I gained a Masters’Degree in International Education and Qualified from the University of Oxford as a MBCT counselor and trainer.

Avenor is the latest chapter of my career. I believe the vast and varied experiences that I have amassed will help me guide and shape the future of our pupils. I aim to ensure those under my tutelage will not only become proficient scientists but true global citizens who can go on to make a positive contribution to any environment they choose to inhabit.
