The role of Laboratory Technician at Avenor represents more to me than just a professional position – it is an opportunity to put science at the service of education and to contribute to the creation of an authentic and stimulating learning environment. I am convinced that a well-organized laboratory, where students feel safe and are guided with responsibility, can profoundly transform the way they understand and appreciate science.

My journey in biochemistry began at the “Spiru Haret” National College in Bucharest, specialising in Natural Sciences. I continued my studies at the Faculty of Biology of the University of Bucharest, where I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry in 2025 with a grade of 10. My graduation thesis focused on the antimicrobial activity of vancomycin-treated mesoporous silica nanoparticles tested on reference strains – a project that shaped my experimental rigor and my ability to document and interpret complex data.

Since October 2025, I have been pursuing the Applied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology master’s program at the University of Bucharest, deepening the knowledge acquired during my undergraduate studies and expanding my practical skills in advanced molecular biology techniques. Concurrently, since February 2026, I have been completing the Level II Psychopedagogical Module at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, a training that allows me to better understand the needs and particularities of an educational environment. Also starting in 2026, I am participating in the CIVIS EMMB Program – Experimental Models in Molecular Biomedicine, an international initiative through which I collaborate with students and researchers from all over Europe, featuring an in-person training component in Tübingen, Germany.

My practical laboratory experience covers a diverse range of techniques: cell cultures, total RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, RT-PCR and qPCR, biocompatibility and cytotoxicity assays (MTT, LDH, LIVE/DEAD), aseptic microbiological techniques, antimicrobial activity testing via disk diffusion and microdilution, as well as the quantitative analysis of experimental data. I pay special attention to protocol compliance, contamination control and laboratory safety.

I see my role as a Laboratory Technician at Avenor as an active and collaborative one, supporting teachers in preparing engaging practical activities while helping students approach scientific experiments with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of responsibility. I believe that meaningful laboratory experiences can spark a lifelong interest in science and inspire students to pursue scientific careers. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the Avenor community with enthusiasm.
