My name is Laura Andrei and I am a professional choreographer, ballet teacher and fitness-ballet instructor. Currently I am working at Avenor Nursery as a Physical Education and Ballet teacher. I consider that is a great opportunity and I am grateful for having a job that I am passionate about, feeling at the same time that I am in the right place.

 I have been working as a dance teacher since 2014. Teaching is one of the most beautiful yet challenging things for me. I love working with children, because they are full of energy, and I think that in this exchange of energies, both parties are learning on different levels. I think it’s more than a process of learning, it is about the time spent together, an educational process through a communication system that enfolds many layers of development. I believe that physical activity is vital in children’s all-round development, enabling them to pursue happy, healthy and active lives.

I am keen on teaching dance, to children or grown-ups, likewise. I want my students to learn beautiful things, to create their own value system, to think critically and to discover their artistic side, while exploring their own boundaries and creativity.  I am interested in learning more about different methods of teaching, both English and dance, to make my classes more enjoyable, to create curious learners and to guide them to a better understanding of their bodies. I am fond of the Mantle of the Expert educational approach, therefore in this regard, I have obtained a certification for Beginners Course, Mantle of the Expert, in 2021.

I started dancing when I was 4 years old, continuing at Floria Capsali High school in Bucharest. In school, I have studied Vaganova classical dance technique, folk and character dances, as well as contemporary dance. At Codarts Dance Academy, in the Netherlands, I have learned different contemporary dance techniques, as Laban, Graham and Limon. 

After my returning to Romania, I obtained an aerobics instructor degree from Federatia Romana “Sportul pentru toti” in 2009, I collaborated with Razvan Mazilu for the performance “Depeche Dance” at Odeon Theatre, I danced in musical shows produced by “Ion Dacian” National Operetta and Musical Theater. From the TV shows, I mention “X Factor”, “Te cunosc de undeva”. On the big screen I danced in a feature film directed by Nae Caranfil, “6,9 pe scara Richter” and in musical videos for Parov Stelar, Moonlight Breakfast, Andreea Balan, Fly Project.

 Since I want to develop my skills, I am always looking for new experiences and to expand my range of knowledge, in 2020 I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and Literatures at Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University, achieving as well a certification in psycho-pedagogy training for teachers, first level. In 2022 I developed my career with a Master Degree in Anglo-American Intercultural Studies.

As a volunteer, I am a member of Asociatia Umanitara Tadeu, where together with community members, we organize different projects and festivals, all around the year, helping them by coordinating creative and movement happenings.  

My hopes and dreams in Avenor are connected with learning continuously, shaping creative students and enjoying this process.
