Nadina Negru

Teacher of Chemistry
Science Lab Coordinator

I believe that the teaching profession chose me, and I embraced it without hesitation. I found out I would be teaching just a day before entering the classroom, an invitation I immediately accepted. It was a long-standing desire, and it remains the best decision I’ve ever made. I am pleased with the spontaneity with which I started my career because it forced me to adapt quickly, forming a very clear vision of my role from the beginning. I believe that a teacher, beyond teaching, must also serve as a role model for their students by adhering to principles of professional ethics and imparting moral values.

I attended the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest from 2015 to 2019, graduating with a degree in chemical engineering. In 2017, I won an Erasmus+ scholarship that gave me the opportunity to study a semester at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. This was a significant learning experience that allowed me to discover new teaching methods.

Throughout my college years, I combined my lifelong passion for chemistry with teaching and volunteered in the Young Chemists program of the Societatea de Chimie din România. The activities we organized included interactive labs, national experiment competitions, and street experiments at science festivals for students of all ages.

I taught from 2019 until February 2023 when I took a break to explore the field of production as a chemical engineer, to further acquaint myself with the technical aspects of a professional laboratory. During this time, I underwent training courses, conducted online experiment workshops, and wrote scenarios for digital lessons to gain experience. I hope that through my involvement in increasingly diverse activities, I can push my boundaries and become a better teacher with each passing day.

With the desire to contribute to the development of future adults, I eagerly await the start of the new school year at Avenor.
