My name is Oana-Silvana Sofian, and I am delighted to have been part of this wonderful team since August 2018.

I had my first teaching experience over 20 years ago, during my second year at the Faculty of Composition, Musicology, and Musical Pedagogy. That was the year I began my specialisation in Choral Conducting and discovered my true passion for teaching. From the very beginning, I felt both the immense responsibility and the great privilege of being a teacher. For me, the opportunity to spark children’s curiosity and nurture in them a love for music – and for life itself – is the most rewarding profession in the world.

After graduating from the National University of Music Bucharest in 2008, I started to broaden my horizons and explore new cultures. Between 2008 and 2018, I lived, taught, and continued to grow professionally in the Basque Country, Panama, and Costa Rica.

I joined the Avenor team in 2018 as a full-time piano teacher, and in 2021 I also took on the role of Clubs Coordinator.

In 2023, I took another important step in my professional journey, joining the Leadership Team as Systems Lead for the Avenor nurseries in Cașin and Greenfield. This position has allowed me to work closely with the Educational Coordinator and the Management Team, providing daily opportunities for both personal and professional development.

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any better, in 2024 I joined a project very close to my heart, the Avenor Parents’ Choir. This experience has brought even more depth and meaning to my journey within the Avenor community.

I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Avenor family, a community where everyone learns from one another, and where I can put my knowledge into practice while nurturing my lifelong passions: children and music.

I begin each academic year at Avenor College with enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong desire to grow and inspire, through my passion and energy, both children and colleagues alike.
