Teacher of Mathematics

The study of mathematical sciences has intrigued me for many years. The decision to study thoroughly at academic level both maths and physics stemmed from a high interest level and a strong aptitude in both subject areas. For me, mathematics is an endlessly intriguing subject, as the discipline appears limitless, allowing so much scope for further study and research.

During my Bachelor student years at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, University of Politehnica Bucharest, I achieved an excellent understanding of Mathematics, Physics, and Computing and succeeded in having an average of  9.67 overall grade.

I found out that I am interested in teaching when I started to tutor one of my colleagues at mathematics in high-school years. After achieving the maximum grade at mathematics, she decided to study further maths and she informed me that her new-found love of the subject was down to my tutoring having made the subject both fun and comprehensible to her. The sense of reward that I felt as a result gave me the initial spark of inspiration to become a mathematics teacher .

My work experience started in 2020 as a shadow teacher, providing 1:1 support to students (year 2). This particular experience allowed me to acquire a number of new skills and also help enhance my weaker ones. I have always acknowledged the fact that I can be a very good listener and a good communicator which is an important quality needed when you are a teacher.

The year 2021 came with a new challenge and at the same time with the fulfilment of my true goal, that of becoming a Mathematics Teacher. I enjoyed helping teenagers to reach their academic goals and gain an understanding of mathematical concepts. I believe that to become an excellent teacher you must have the desire to assist students in the learning process and this is one quality which I feel I definitely possess.

I am still at the beginning of my journey and joining Avenor is a great joy and a big opportunity for me. I consider myself to have commitment, patience and persistence to succeed in discovering my students’ needs and to model myself according to their needs. I truly value the sense of achievement gained in teaching new skills to students and I wish to continue to pass on the secrets of mathematics to the new generation.
