Andrei Rusu
Teacher of English
My journey into education began with a desire to explore the depth of language and the complexity of human interaction. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Letters at “Vasile Alecsandri” University of Bacău, where I majored in Romanian Language and Literature and English Language and Literature. Driven by my passion for the richness and nuances of the English language, I continued my academic studies by completing the Master’s programme in English Language. Communication Practices at the same university. I also completed the Level 1 and Level 2I Teacher Training Programme, which provided me with the pedagogical foundation for my teaching career.
The exceptional teachers I met throughout my academic journey, many of whom became my mentors, inspired me to pursue a career in education. Teaching gives me energy, motivation, and a genuine sense of fulfilment, while constantly encouraging me to grow both personally and professionally. It has also helped me become highly organised and structured in my approach. To me, being a teacher is about far more than sharing knowledge; it means being a guide, a source of support, and a trusted partner who creates a safe and encouraging environment where every student can discover and develop their potential at their own pace.
A significant milestone in my professional journey came in 2026, when I took on the organisation and coordination of the Cambridge Young Learners English (YLE) examinations. Through this role, I aim to support students during their first experiences with international language certification, helping to make the examination process a positive, confidence-building experience that is both natural and rewarding for children and their families.
In my daily teaching practice, I embrace technology and digital innovation by continuously integrating modern tools and interactive methodologies into the classroom. I am particularly interested in gamification and the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence to enhance learning. I frequently incorporate platforms such as Canva to design engaging and meaningful learning experiences. I believe that, when used purposefully, technology not only increases student engagement but also fosters independence, creativity, and confidence in learners.
At Avenor, I aspire to help nurture curious, independent, and responsible learners who understand their own learning process and take an active role in their personal growth. I hope to inspire my students to discover their strengths, challenge themselves, and develop the confidence they need to become the very best version of themselves.
