Corina Oprea
Nursery Teacher

I have been part of the Avenor community since 2021. Over the past few years, I have grown both as a class teacher and through various extended roles. Before moving into Year One, I supported the Nursery team by implementing the Learning Outside The Classroom (LOTC) programme, assisting with the assessment process, and leading the student council. These experiences enriched my understanding of how children develop and learn at different stages.
In the 2024–2025 school year, I taught in Year One, where our curriculum blends elements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with Key Stage 1. This unique approach allowed me to support children as they transitioned smoothly into more structured learning while continuing to nurture their independence and creativity. I particularly enjoy designing cross-curricular experiences that integrate areas like history, geography, and storytelling, helping children make meaningful connections and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
My academic background reflects this passion: I graduated from the University of Bucharest’s Faculty of History, specialising in Ancient History and Archaeology, with a thesis on comparative mythology. I later completed a pedagogy course at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences and followed a Master’s in Art History and Cultural Philosophy.
In addition to my love of stories and culture, I’ve always been enthusiastic about foreign languages and hold a C1 Advanced Cambridge Certificate with a native speaking level.
In the upcoming academic year, I will take on a new role supporting systems across the nursery while continuing to contribute to teaching and learning. I look forward to helping strengthen both our structures and our teaching practice.
