Ioana Gafencu

Teacher of Music

My name is Ioana Andreea Gafencu, I am 34 years old, the proud mother of a 10 years old daughter and I am in love with music. It all started when I was just 5 years old and I asked my parents if I could start learning how to play the piano. So I did and never stopped studying since that moment. My passion for the piano and for music led me to different national and international piano competitions, recitals and concerts which made me develop as the musician I am today. I studied piano, music theory, musical harmony, the history of music and pedagogy as other major subjects related to music at “George Enescu” Music College and the National University of Music – Bucharest with some of the best teachers. I have been teaching for 12 years now. During those years I continued to study and learn how to become the best teacher for my students and how to share my passion and all my knowledge with them. I have obtained certificates from music courses which I attended in London and Manchester UK.

I always feel there is so much more to learn and so much more I can improve as a person and as an educator. As Plato said, “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.”
