Secondary School – Psychology or Media Studies
(with a second subject or the possibility of a part time role)
The position will primarily involve teaching Psychology and Media Studies across KS4 and KS5, with the possibility of teaching KS3 Humanities or English for a suitable candidate. There is also the possibility of a part time position teaching solely Psychology or Media Studies.
Your lessons will be dynamic and concept-driven, encouraging students to think critically, explore perspectives, and make real-world connections between human behaviour, communication, and society. You will also assist with other school duties as required.

Applicants should be experienced, fully qualified teachers of Psychology and/or Media Studies.
Essential Characteristics:
- Relevant degree (for example, BA/BSc in Psychology, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field);
- Experience teaching Psychology and/or Media Studies at secondary level;
- Ability to motivate and challenge able students through creative and stimulating lessons;
- Motivation to develop engaging schemes of work that integrate Psychology and Media as key aspects of the whole school curricular and co-curricular experience;
- Experience designing and delivering high-quality, conceptually focused learning experiences;
- Ability to inspire trust and confidence in students, parents, and colleagues, and to contribute to professional development in your area of expertise;
- Commitment to promoting the wider aspirations and values of Avenor College.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Media Studies, or related field;
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level Psychology or Media Studies;
- Familiarity with concept-based and inquiry-driven pedagogy;
- Previous international school experience;
- Understanding of interdisciplinary teaching and digital media literacy.
